Do you ever wonder why I love I heart faces?

click me!
I love I heart faces because:
It forces me to take a new picture each week.
It helps me learn more about photography!
It's a safe place to ask questions and grow.
I've met the nicest people in the world there : ).
It's absolutely inspirational!
So, maybe taking pictures isn't your schtick-
I would encourage you,
to look around blog land,
or the real land if you like,
and get involved in something that helps you grow.
And, if taking pictures is your thing,
well then, for goodness sakes,
grab your kid, grab your camera,
and head outside and take a picture
of them doing something sports related
for this weeks fun theme:
Now, if you are thinking,
oh, but I could never win,
well me either!
But I never even notice!
I am too busy having fun
and snapping pictures!
Follow your dreams!
Reach for the stars!
with what we have.
Success is the doing, not the getting;
in the trying, not the triumph.
Success is a personal standard,
reaching for the highest that is in us,
becoming all that we can be.”
Zig Ziglar

P.S. What is your schtick?
I just LOVE that word.
It makes me wish I was Jewish
just so I could say it with
authenticity... : )

How we roll: CeLeBrAtInG Half Birthdays

Much to my dear Daddy's chagrin,
we celebrate half Birthdays in our house.
Well, only for Kaish.
Gary wants no part of Half Birthdays.
He says it must be a white thing.
I told him that even most NORMAL
white people don't celebrate Half Birthdays : )

I don't know exactly why we do it,
except for the fact that it's a nice time
to remember how much my baby is growing.

This year we invited Sienna over.
She and Kaish were born on the exact same day.
Isn't that cool?
Jen and I have pictures of them together
from when they were tiny babies.
They were so cute!

My Mommy, who is not opposed to Half Birthdays
was a great supporter of our party!
She bought the yummiest cake
(and she vacumed before
Jen, Sienna and Sofia came!)
I love her so much all the time
and even more than normal
when she vacumes : )

It takes a long time to grow young.
Pablo Picasso
We have the most wonderful friends and family.
I am thankful every day!

Are these not the cutest children in the world?
Just love them to pieces!

Friends to the end!
It's the life in your years.”
Abraham Lincoln
I apologize for the non edited state of the pics.
My photoshop is acting up lately....
Do you celebrate
Half Birthdays
at your house?

I need HELP

No, not with the boys.
Although that would be lovely.
If you are dying to provide respite support
just let me know : )
What I really need help with is
my blurry non flash pictures.
Do I need a tri pod?
I love the look of no flash.
That pretty soft light melts me.
But that blur-
it's driving me insane!
insane in the membrane!
So, when I saw what
was hosting this morning,
I just died with happiness.
Except I am still alive.
And I need advice.
Thanks a million ba jillion!
Oh, and this totally would be my
BEST SHOT this week,
if only it wasn't so blurry!

Since Naji's come

We have experienced:

Severe chin burns
(or maybe he just likes bandaids?)

Upside down couch flips
during spontaneous wrestling!

And peeing (!) on the neighbors fence.

And I have survived all of these moments.
Survived and conquered.

I don't drink.
But I think I need one.

Have you had any
especially difficult moments
this summmer?

Mama Kat's prompts are fun this week!
Go check them out.
And then be thankful!
Be very, very thankful,
that Naji and Kaish are not
in your living room : ).

Yabba Dabba Doo! Or Not?

I have terrible news to report
Are you ready for my Y?
Y is for Yell!
Our neighbors do it!
My kid does it!
Even my sweet little nephew does it!
And so do I!

I, Rebeckah, am a yeller...

Please pray for me!
Or send money for therapy!
Either/ Or
XO

What makes you yell?
Head over to Wordful Wednesday too!

Red, White and Blue

Nothing is more difficult,
and therefore more precious,
than to be able to decide.
~Napoleon Bonaparte

Those who deny
freedom to others
deserve it not
for themselves.
~Abraham Lincoln

We on this continent should never forget
that men first crossed the Atlantic
not to find soil for their ploughs
but to secure liberty for their souls.
~Robert J. McCracken

There are two freedoms -
the false, where a man
is free to do what he likes;
the true, where he
is free to do what he ought.
~Charles Kingsley

Liberty is always dangerous,
but it is the safest thing we have.
~Harry Emerson Fosdick

We have enjoyed so much freedom
for so long
that we are perhaps
in danger of forgetting
how much blood it cost
to establish the Bill of Rights.
~Felix Frankfurter

It's Patriotic Story Week at I Heart Faces.
I don't know where to start.
Kaish learned the Pledge of Allegiance
when he was just 2.
We love our country.
We try to be thankful for our freedom daily.
We pray for the men and women who serve
in the military during supper each night.

God bless America.

What was your favorite thing
about the 4th of July this year?

Blissful Swimming

Don't wait for your ship to come in -
swim out to it.
